Billy Tibbals and Mac Saturn in NYC

February 4th, 2023: Billy Tibbals and Mac Saturn came to Racket in New York City and reminded me of why I love going to concerts. These are the bands that are reviving live music. Every moment from that night had life. Each band had their unique style, and you could tell the whole show that they aren’t afraid to do what feels good at the moment. When at this show, it felt like what I imagine people in the ’60s and ’70s during the rise and peak of the rock scene felt – like being in the presence of the beginnings of the most iconic bands we know.

There’s no doubt in my mind that these two bands will be icons to future generations of rising rock musicians. Billy Tibbals Band were very classic in their suits while playing classic-sounding rock reminiscent of Queen, The Beatles, and Fleetwood Mac. Mac Saturn has a very Mick Jagger-esque lead singer with a sort of Rolling Stones/The Doors deeper sound. Overall, they are gorgeous in sound and show, so don’t miss out on their first tour together and what is hopefully many more beautiful live moments to come.
