Last month, I took a road trip up to Reno to see “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical.”
If you are unaware, it’s a musical (duh) based off of the first book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. I grew up rereading the series so seeing the first book come to life was life changing to say the least.
The musical is on tour RIGHT NOW and if you decide to check it out, don’t worry, it is nothing like the movie.

It is VERY true to the book. To be quite honest, I might’ve cried a bit while watching it because of how well made it is.

Of course I’m going to tell you that the soundtrack in its entirety is great, but I usually find myself listening to it from “Good Kid” to “My Grand Plan” – my two favorite songs from the musical.
