Once upon a time I was really into 5 Seconds of Summer…
It was a few months after I started to listen to One Direction. I had seen some talk about them on Twitter and one day I decided to see what all the fuss was about. At this point they were still a small band playing small shows in Australia. I remember looking them up on Youtube and clicking on what at that time was their most recent video, a cover of Ed Sheeran’s “The A Team”. After watching it all the way through I clicked on another video…
Then another.
I instant became obsessed.
I remember the feeling of excitement months later when Louis from One Direction tweeted about them and when they were flown to the U.K. to meet 1D. Shortly after they announced they’d be touring together. I knew those kids were going to be HUGE.
I’m not going to deny being really into them at some point in my life. I was able to create some of my favorite memories because of them. There are little things that still make me laugh to this day, like mispronouncing Calum’s name and REFUSING to pronounce 5sos as “5sauce”.
In celebration of 5 years of being a band, 5SOS released a plethora of songs on Apple Music and Spotify.
One of the songs re-released is their cover of “I Miss You”. I honestly couldn’t be happier! It was one of my most played songs back in 2012/2013 and it’s about to become my most played song of 2016.
