August 2nd, 2023: Never before has there been more love, acceptance, and respect between the fans and the artist than there was at Yungblud’s show at Brooklyn Bowl on August 2nd. Yungblud, also known as Dominic Harrison, is a pop-punk artist from the UK who got his start in 2018 when he released his first self-titled EP, “Yungblud”, and his first album, 21st Century Liability, that same year. He has had a progressive career with a supportive fan base who have stuck by him since the start. The message surrounding his artistry is love, acceptance, and living life to the fullest. Yungblud has executed this by creating a safe space at his live shows where people can show up exactly as they are—no judgements, no questions. His fans have allowed this for him as well and he has become a role model by being completely true to himself in everything he does.
The crowd ranged from children, their parents, everyone in between, and even a dog sitting amongst the crowd sidestage. Everyone was there because they didn’t want to be anywhere else that night. It is so inspiring to see so many people in this world who just want to be themselves and enjoy some music. The night started out with “21st Century Liability,” a flashback to the start of his career. Yungblud brought a fan on stage, who came all the way from Chicago, and asked them to choose the next song which was “Doctor Doctor” The audience sang along to every word, harmonizing with Yungblud and creating one of many unforgettable moments from that night. The crowd chanted for an encore, their passion ringing through the halls, nobody was ready for the night to be over. Although Yungblud will undoubtedly tour again, this run of shows are sure to be special and you won’t want to miss out.
